Application Notes
Brushless DC fan is a kind of DC motor without mechanical commutator and brush. It adopts electronic commutation device, thus overcoming the weaknesses of general DC motor such as having commutation spark, poor reliability, high noise and interference to radio. It has the mechanical characteristics and adjustability of general DC motor, but also has the advantages of wide speed range, small size, rapid start, reliable operation, high efficiency, long life, etc. At present, it is widely used in small home appliance fan industry, and the general power is less than 100 W. The topologies are P+N, N+N, 3 Phase. Advantages of NCE: Smaller package size: dual chip N+N or N+P dual core package chip for brushless DC motors. Higher current capability: The use of CLIP and SMD package makes the chip more heat dissipation capability. Better reliability: stronger avalanche capability and shock resistance.
